LSN Diffusion Nickel Based Alloy Powders
LSN Diffusion’s full spectrum of gas- and water-atomized nickel-based alloy powders are ideal for powder welding, flame spray and high-velocity oxy-fuel, laser cladding, and plasma-transferred arc surfacing techniques. When applied to a component, they bolster resistance to heat, wear, and corrosion.
Depending on the process used, particle size distributions may change.
Nickel Powder Welding
LSN Diffusion’s nickel-based powders are available to suit commonly used powder welding torches. Powder size distributions are usually 106μm or less as well as 90μm or less.
Flame Spray And HVOF
Flame Spray and HVOF powders have similar chemical analyses but modified powder size distributions. Flame spray powders are typically supplied in either 125μm to 45μm or 106μm to 38μm fractions. Control of size distribution ensures efficient, uninterrupted spraying. The HVOF grades are supplied in either 53μm and smaller or 45μm and smaller, according to customer preference and the equipment used.
Nickel PTA And Laser Cladding
Powder size distributions for Plasma transferred arc surfacing applications are designed to suit manufacturers’ equipment. Typically these are 150μm to 75μm or53μm or 125μm to 53μm or 45μm. Since laser cladding equipment is quickly developing, verifying the optimal powder size with the equipment manufacturer is suggested.
